Zombie Fried Monkey...

This is a render of the EVIL ROBOT 360° from my new cartoon "Evil Genius". Originally the cartoon was going to be 3 mins but extra characters and changes to the story has extended this to 5 mins. I'm finishing the final act but there's still a lot to do with animating a zombie fried monkey, an army of evil robots and some kick ass explosions!

I'm also gonna re-animate some of the opening sequence and some character shots cause they don't really match up with the later stuff I've done.

Bills & Bugs

I've been working freelance for FST Digital on two motion graphics projects for Abbey National and Rentokil. All animated in after fx and flash for online promotion and DVD.

Cakes, Dust and Lines

Go FullScreen!

For the last month and a bit I've been working for iLoveDust in London on an animated commercial for a American drugs company.

The project involved tracing over video of actors in flash and compositing in after fx which took time, patience and a lot of cakes!

Evil Genius Family Portrait

Work on my new cartoon "Evil Genius" continues although I'm still a while from the end. I'm 24 (or 0:00:24:01) seconds into the third act and it has been constant layout and then execution of the animation which is why it was nice to spend an hour drawing this family portrait.

This is a short 30 second cartoon which took about a day to make and I have no idea what it's about. Enjoy!

The Elephant and Man Short

In the process of making a new short starring an elephant and a Thudercats sword! The short is gonna be on my YouTube channel and I'll post it up here when I'm done.

Here's a link to my only popular vid on YouTube called Baker Day. Inspired by Charlie Chaplin I made Baker Day when I was 16 years old using the only application I had that could do animation, Macromedia Director 5.0!!!

Monkey Testing

More work on Evil Genius cartoon: This monkey being electrocuted! This was done by using the puppet tool in after fx. Takes alittle bit of time and some patience but you can really have some fun with the different poses.
Also a quote and a video about inventor and mechanical engineer Nikola Tesla...

“I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.”

Mission To Seafarers Cartoon

Billy the Boat

Completed 5 minute flash cartoon for a charity called Mission to Seafarers. The charity helps support seafarers who bring food and other goods to our shores. MTS wanted a educational cartoon for kids to show who seafarers are and what they do. Here's the cartoon...

The Family

Mollie the Cat

MTS supplied a script (a story of Billy the Boat going with Mollie the cat to the caribbean to get the fruit for the families meal) and I got on with designing the characters, producing a storyboard and final production of the cartoon. The whole thing took about 3 weeks to produce from start to finish and was delivered in dvd format.

The Boat that Rocked

Redberry designed this site for the new Richard Curtis movie called The Boat That Rocked produced by Working Title. It's a family comedy about pirate radio stations in the 1960's. My biggest contribution was the Dancing Buddies available on download via the AIR app. The app will allow the characters to literally dance on your desktop to music from the movie.

Using the illustrations by Kate I first saved out all the pngs in photoshop then pulled them into flash. I then built the rig for the character and and created the animations of them dancing. After that I took the swfs into after effects and exported movie files for Liam (code monkey genius) to code into the AIR app. The whole thing took about 4 weeks to do and it was really cool to be animating for Working Title and Universal Pictures.

This is a sample of the demo I put together for Working Title of
Bill Nighy doing a funky dance! :)
